George Joseph Coulton
George Coulton (Service no 1270) was born in Bulli, NSW in 1887.
In 1909, he married Maud Starr in Woonona, NSW.
At the time of enlistment, George was married, 28 years of age, employed as a labourer and resided in Bulli, NSW.
George embarked on HMAT A67 - Orsova with Australian Remount 2, Squadron 5 on 10 November 1915 and arrived in Egypt in December 1915. George saw service in Egypt but was admitted to hospital on 31 May 1916.
George was deemed unfit for further active service and returned to Australia in August 1916. He was medically discharged on 24 October 1916.
George returned to playing cricket in the Thirroul area, NSW as a batsman and wicket keeper.
George is remembered on the Corrimal Public School Roll of Honour.
