Charles Park (Service No 1972) was born in Liverpool, England and arrived in Australia in October, 1915. At the time of enlistment, Charles stated he was a single 19 year old sailor at Bulli.

Charles embarked on HMAT A37 Barambah with 3rd Reinforcements, 53rd Battalion on 23rd June,1916. He arrived in England on 25th August, 1916 and finally went to France on 5th December, 1916.

Charles saw service on the Western Front until admitted to hospital sick on 15th January, 1917.

While in England, Charles came to the notice of the authorities and on 21st May, 1917 was reclassified as underage. He was returned to Australia in June,1918 and discharged medically unfit on 28th September, 1918.
